Meet Your Instructor, Jayne

Hi, I’m Jayne. (pronounced “Jay-nee”). I’m excited you’re here!

A little about me…I’m privileged to have taught hundreds of kiddos over the years at the YMCA and in backyards from beginner level to advanced. Guiding a child to confidently enjoy the water, progress new skill sets, and safely have fun, is a calling I hope you’ll allow me to share with your family. There’s too much fun to be had in the water! And as a mama to two young kids ensuring they’re having that fun safely is a preoccupation and if that’s why you’re here, from one parent to another, thank you.

So how did this all start for me? In 1984 I was getting my first swim lesson, by 1988 I was the Texas state champion with multiple state records being featured on Channel 8 news and Sports Illustrated magazine. Take a look below, it goes nicely with the 80’s greatest hits!

As a native Texan and a University of Texas alumni I’m a proud Texan, but I also have a passion for travel. I’ve traveled to over 80 countries, all 7 continents, and even climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. I have 2 amazing kiddos, Maverick and Savannah, and one sweet rescue dog, Lola. And I can’t not mention my handsome pool boy, my husband Brendan.

It all starts at home. I taught my son to swim independently before he was 3 years old and he was recently labelled the fastest 5 year old in all of the Austin area YMCAs this past summer. My daughter Savannah will be 2 in April and is already able to swim back to safety with minimal support. I would be honored to teach your kids too. Sign up with me today by clicking here!
